Trillium pusillum

The dwarf trillium, sometimes called dwarf wakerobin, is native to only a few states in the Southern US. It is one of the smallest trillium species, if not the smallest. Trilliums grow best in richly organic soils of deciduous forests. They emerge in early spring and go dormant once the heat of summer sets in. This one has white petals that turn pink as they age.
