Dicentra cucullaria

Dutchman's breeches, or Dutchman's britches, is a spring ephemeral native to Eastern North America. It does best in moist, humusy, organic soils in full to part shade. It looks amazing in a woodland garden alongside other spring ephemerals like ramps, bloodroot, trilliums, and bellwort.
