Carex bicknellii

This North American native sedge can be found growing in a variety of conditions, from moist meadows to dry rocky slopes...which means if you have a tricky spot in your garden, you might want to give this sedge a try! It is more drought tolerant than many other species of sedge.

Carex bicknellii forms airy clumps of green foliage with copper colored seed heads in spring. The grass-like foliage may die back during dry summer months but will reinvigorate in the spring and fall.
