White baneberry is a perennial plant native to Eastern North America and likes moist, rich woodlands. If conditions are right, it will seed freely and naturalize. It has striking white berries, each with a dark purple spot that makes it look like an eyeball. This is why this plant is also called "doll's eyes." Even though the berries are very attractive, do not consume them. They are highly poisonous.
