Amsonia illustris

Amsonia illustris is native to Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. It has all the lovely qualities you want out of a bluestar: seasonal interest, adaptability, pollinator attracting, etc. It ekes out a few more points for its proliferation of blooms compared to its siblings. The flipside is that it isn't as tolerant of dry soils as some others (see A. hubrichtii). Either way, you usually can't go wrong with a bluestar. They are one of the prettiest yet toughest plants we grow!
