Callicarpa acuminata

We have a growing obsession with beautyberries, so we've added Mexican beautyberry to our collection! As the name suggests, this one hails from Mexico and Central America. Compared to our N. American beautyberries, it has a deeper purple color to the berries, larger leaves, and bigger overall habit.

Bear in mind that it prefers a warmer climate than its N. American cousins. We plan to experiment with it in both a microclimate site and the greenhouse.
