Carex vulpinoidea

Fox sedge is native to much of North America and can be found in a variety of habitats that have sunny, wet conditions. This can include roadside ditches, marshlands, and wet open forests. It prefers full sun but can handle some shade as well.

This is a great choice for revitalizing a natural wet site or creating a rain garden. Expect it to spread if site conditions are optimal. Fox sedge attracts many critters, including skipper butterflies and waterfowl.
