Description
Good King Henry is a related to lambsquarters (C. album). It shares some characteristics with lambsquarters, but it is perennial not annual. It's perhaps a better choice for the garden setting (a little less weedy). It likes richer soils and decent moisture.
It's highly nutritious - historically a staple veg in parts of Europe. The young shoots suggest asparagus, while the leaves suggest spinach. It is advised to cook the plant and eat only on occasion. Do your own research before consuming.
