Description
The fringed bleeding heart is native to the Appalachian Mountains and can handle our southern heat better than the more common bleeding heart (D. spectabilis, native to Asia). It does best in rich but well drained soil in a partly shaded environment. They can handle full shade but will produce more flowers with a little dappled sunlight. A great addition to a native woodland garden!
