Echinops and eryngiums are quickly becoming a favorite here at the farm. What makes this eryngium great is that it's native to certain regions of the US! In the wild it likes tall grass prairies, open woodlands, and disturbed sites, which means it can handle poor soil and dry conditions.
The plant was used traditionally in snake handling ceremonies to prevent snake bites, giving rise to its common name.
