The origin of this fig is a bit of a mystery. And there are many similar cultivars, with some believing they are all one and the same (e.g. 'Violette de Bordeaux'). Despite its muddled genetic history, you don't want to miss out on this jammy black fig! It's a great choice for container growing and will produce both a breba crop and a main crop.
FUN FACT: This fig was grown at Versailles during the reign of Louis XIV in the 17th century.
