Iris versicolor

Northern blue flag iris is native to the northeastern range of North America. Flag irises are hardy perennials that bloom in spring/early summer and thrive in low-lying, wet ground. That's not to say you can't grow Northern blue flag in your garden! Just give them rich soil and plenty of water during establishment.

If you do have a wet site like a stream bank or pond edge, then add some cool blue-purple color with this iris. It can handle up to 4 inches of standing water.
