Nassella tenuissima

Mexican feather grass has a graceful movement and silken visual texture that is like living poetry in the garden - the way it falls upon itself, the allure of light trapping between its filaments. This commonly grown grass is anything but ordinary.

It does best in warm climates and is fairly drought tolerant. It may appreciate some water in extended summer droughts. Soil should be well-draining. It is suitable for a rock garden, which mimics its nativity to rocky scrublands of the southwest.
