Description
Pulsatilla patens is native to higher elevations in Europe, Siberia, and even the United States and Canada. It's naturally found in rocky and dry soil. It prefers full sun in cooler climates, or a little afternoon shade in hotter regions.
The foliage is soft and fuzzy just like P. vulgaris. Lavender flowers usually emerge early in the spring before the foliage emerges, which helps differentiate it from P. vulgaris, which flowers along with the foliage.
