Hinnonmaki Red (Hinno Red) is a popular variety of the European gooseberries. Introduced from Finland and very popular in the UK, Hinnonmaki Red is a strong-growing selection with good disease resistance and a heavy crop of fruit. It does best in cool climates.

If you've ever tried a gooseberry, you know how tart they can be. However, this one has a nice balance of sweet and sour, classifying it as a dessert gooseberry.
