Description
While its origin remains a mystery, Jeanne has a mix of both European and American gooseberry genes. It's a popular gooseberry on the market due to its superior disease and pest resistance as well as its fruit yield - up to 3 pounds per plant! It's also better at resisting white pine blister rust than other European gooseberries.
Jeanne gooseberries are wine red with a well-rounded, sweet flavor.
A lovely very healthy plant arrived quickly, with still moist potting soil. Matched the description perfectly and exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to get it planted so that it can be on its way to fruit bearing in a year or so!
