Description
What's an herbal garden without an elderberry? If you want to grow the straight species common to much of Eastern North America, then this is the one for you. It has a large and sprawling habit but can be pruned to maintain its size. While ours here at the farm grow naturally by the creek/field edges, they can adapt to a range of site conditions and grow perfectly well in a cultivated garden.
From elderberry syrup to elderflower tempura, we enjoy the many uses of this native plant.
