Description
Blue-eyed grass is a native perennial (not actually a grass) that is found throughout the Central and Eastern U.S. Interestingly, 'Lucerne' is a cultivar that was first discovered at a nursery in Switzerland. In southern regions, the plant will stay evergreen. It does best in moist, well-draining soils in full to part sun.
We love 'Lucerne' for its profusion of bright purple flowers with highlighter yellow centers. It's great for edging a pathway or growing en masse.
