Description
American snowbell is a large deciduous shrub native to the southeastern U.S. It is a wetland species that likes to grow in marshy areas, floodplains, and on stream banks. In late spring, the snowbell dangles with angelic white blossoms.
This native shrub performs best with rich, acidic, consistently moist soils. A looser sandy loam is best. This is a great plant for woodland gardens, naturalistic areas, and damp sites.
