Talinum paniculatum

Jewels of Opar is a superlative plant with ornamental and edible qualities. Sprays of dainty pink flowers and reddish seed pods have hoisted this plant into the trendy cut flower space. It's also becoming popular in the edibles space, as the succulent leaves, akin to purslane/spinach, can be eaten in moderation.

It is perennial in areas with mild winters but readily reseeds in colder areas. A heat and drought champ! In fact, this plant is native to/naturalized in the warmer parts of the south!
