Ginger bush is a fragrant shrub native to southern Africa. In Zulu traditional medicine, ginger bush ("iboza") is used for numerous ailments. For headaches, the aromatherapy of crushing the sticky leaves and inhaling the scent is said to bring relief. The scent is strongly camphorous and gingery.

While ginger bush needs to be overwintered in most parts of the U.S., it's a lovely container plant that offers beauty, rarity, gorgeous flowers, and a unique aroma. Water intermittently.
