Viola walteri 'Silver Gem'

This North American violet has small purple flowers that bloom spring through autumn. Perhaps even more intriguing are the leaves of this cultivar, which are bluish silver with dark venation. The whole plant is really something special. It will spread to form a small clump over time and will not get more than 5 inches tall.

'Silver Gem' was introduced by Mt. Cuba Center, a non-profit organization that promotes the utilization of native plants.
